CINDIE SAYS:
David Lynch’s “Mulholland Drive” is a film that rewards patience and curiosity. The film was originally conceived as a television pilot for ABC. After the network rejected it, Lynch reworked the material, shot additional scenes, transforming it into a feature film. This origin explains the episodic structure and the myriad of subplots that add to the film’s mysterious allure, its labyrinthine narrative and surreal imagery. Released in 2001, this neo-noir psychological thriller defies conventional storytelling, offering viewers a deeply immersive experience that begs for repeated viewings and endless analysis.
